Yerevan being a capital of Armenia, presents itself as a huge open-air museum, able to charm everyone, lovers of art, history and architecture, as well as fans of contemporary style of entertainment and fun.

It is a place of great importance and the most populous city in Armenia, built on the river Razdan, factually at the foot of the famed Mount Ararat, near the Turkish boundary. The city’s territory is parted into twelve districts.

Unfortunately, the various milestones of the past of Armenia as evidenced by the tragic moment as one when in the desert of Anatolia in 1915 the Armenian people suffered from genocide and thousands of Armenians were forced to face the death against the Turkish army. To this tragic event is dedicated the memorial and museum in Yerevan, called Metz Yeghern. Under the wall of memory are the sepultures of those who combated side by side with the Armenians in this tragic moment of Armenian history.

Interestingly, that freed from the communist regime, Armenia has reason to claim to belong to Europe. At least, in terms of culture, the predominant cause of speaking about it.

Speaking of history and religion, Armenia was amongst the first ones to adopt Christianity.

The oldest religious center of the state is Echmiadzin, located only 20 kilometers from Yerevan, is truly a sacrosanct place for all Armenians and the residence of the head of the Armenian Church.

It preserves the most important relics, such as the wooden parts of Noah’s Ark and a piece of the lance of Longinus, the very spear which had wounded Christ at the crucifixion.

In the 18th century, the cathedral was painted with frescoes and was built a bell tower. In 2000 Echmiadzin was entered in the list of World Heritage.
In terms of entertainment, Yerevan is also full of cafes, bars and discos where the night life hums with the life and fun.

You can spend an enjoyable evening in the bar, sipping the famous Armenian brandy and local wines. It is also traditional for Armenians to take a cup of delicious coffee and pleasantly spend time conversing with friends.

A visit of concerts and theater spectacles are also part of the visit of Yerevan.
